Personal Information
Hey. My name is Dean and I'm from England. I'm 20 years old and I currently work in Game where I get to sit around and talk about games all day and get paid for it. I then come home and talk about games some more. Outside of WoW I play my PS3 quite frequently and the flavour of the month games right now are Modern Warfare 2 and Heavy Rain. I also follow football religiously and support Arsenal. Other hobbies include television, movies, music and all that other boring stuff. Your character's in-character background (role playing-wise, that is). Since I intend to faction-change I'm not sure writing about an Orc getting a race and gender change would be the greatest role-play story in the world... but if you really want me to make some bizarre one up then I'll try. I'm not the most active role-player in the world but I am respect the rules of the server and I do not get in the way of others enjoyment of it. From my Horde characters prospective: Nekro, a former Warrior of Orgrimmar had been involved in many epic battles. He had fought side-by-side with many a Orc but like so many heroes before him, one day he met his match while fighting of the vile Scourge. Not content in just slaying his victims, The Lich King raised Nekro as one of his own and taught him the ways of the Death Knight. Nekro's will was bound to his new leader but he would soon see the error in his ways and alongside the Knights of the Ebon Blade he managed to break free of the Lich King's will and fight against him, making his mission to one day bring him to justice. Nekro knew that he would first need to sharpen his skills as a Death Knight and started by conquering Naxxramas where he defeated one of the Lich King's generals, Kel'Thuzad. He felt ready to march into Icecrown but realised that he would still have to prove that he had the ability to do so. The imminent threat of a returning Old God in Ulduar named Yogg-Saron would cause Nekro to turn his attentions away from the Lich King for a brief moment. He successfully vanquished the Old God from the Titan City and his next task was to prove his worth to the Argent Crusade by participating in a tournament designed to find the bravest heroes to march into Icecrown. Nekro was among the few chosen and now his mission to bring the Lich King's reign to an end is fast approaching... WoW Experience and Previous Guilds I've been playing World of Warcraft for around three years. My first character was a Human Mage called Razoric on the Wildhammer realm. My Vanilla raiding experience is pretty limited to ZG and MC and it wasn't until The Burning Crusade hit that I was introduced properly to the world of raiding. Being on the Alliance side of Wildhammer sucked pretty hard but I managed to see most of the content to some extent, clearing through TK/SSC and most of MH/BT in the process but I never felt as though I was pushing myself to the sort of standard I knew I was capable of throughout all of this. The only fights that I saw that required any sort of brain power were Kael'Thas and Lady Vashj as the guilds I were in didn't have the capacity to advance much further than that. When Wrath of The Lich King hit I decided it was time for a fresh new start and Necrosis the Death Knight was born. I joined a guild on Defias Brotherhood called Conquest and we were one of the top guilds all the way through Naxx and Ulduar. Just after 3.2 came out we merged with Crimson Tide to make Phase Two, a guild designed to bring the best of both guilds together in order to compete with the long established Revelations guild for realm firsts. Within a just a few weeks of our formation we managed to snatch the realm first Algalon kill away from the clutches of Revelations and all was fine and dandy in the land of Phase Two... or so it seemed. Three months later down the line and 10 or so of the core that came together when the merge took place have since then moved on due to real life. After seeing so many quit the game or move guilds I decided that it was also my time to do the same. I looked into various different avenues including applying to Revelations where I actually came very close to deciding to join as Sildor had asked to talk to me about my application in more detail. I ended up deciding that a fresh start away from Defias Brotherhood was my best move at the time and promptly moved servers to Mazrigos where I joined a guild called Serendipity. I don't really know what I can say about this phase of my WoW career as it was so short and uneventful. I found myself logging in, raiding and then logging out straight after. It was during the time that only 1 wing in ICC was open and I swamped with work and the Christmas schedule so I decided to take a break altogether. Mazrigos didn't work out for me and so I came back to Defias Brotherhood and joined up with a few of the original Phase Two/Conquest members, Jao and Narcus, and we formed a 10-man guild called No Drama with the intentions of having fun on a casual schedule and don't get me wrong everyone in the guild are really cool guys and I don't have a bad word to say about them but 25-man raiding is what I'm used to and it's where I get my enjoyment of the game from. About my Character http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xm...od&cn=Nekro First and foremost I'm a DPS Death Knight. I do have a tank off-spec but my gear is pretty crappy and I was just using it to off-tank 10-mans when it was necessary. Both of them are the cookie cutter builds that you should expect to see any raiding Death Knight play and I frequently check Elitist Jerks to keep myself up to date on the latest patch developments. I'm not one of those guys that has one spec and just sticks with it - my job in a raid is to bring the best possible damage while staying alive and to reflect that I choose to play the spec that is best suited for that encounter. In previous patches I had two DPS specs, one Unholy, one Blood and I would frequently switch from one to another depending on what the fight required and what I felt would bring the most damage. As Death Knights currently stand Unholy is by far the superior tree and because of that I only have one DPS spec right now. Blood requires a ton of good gear to be competitive and Frost is kind of in a limbo until 3.3.3 where it will actually become quite viable. I'm also open to speccing certain ways to bring the raid unique buffs. I'm not sure what kind of setups are available to you but if you ever lacked an Enhancement Shaman then I'd spec into Frost to bring that buff. I'd also consider speccing Blood for Abomination's Might but in an ideal world I'd be raiding as Unholy as it's just the best tree right now. My gear is pretty meh right now. This can be put down to being away from the game for a while but it's slowly getting upto a standard that I feel is acceptable and even in it's current state I feel comfortable enough that I will be able to do my job properly in raids and not be seen as a liability. My current aim is to replace the old pieces of T9 with T10 to get my 2 and 4 pieces bonuses as they are pretty damn nice for Death Knight's. Changing my weapon is also a priority as that would also bring a nice damage increase but I am a firm believer of skill over gear and I'm confident in my abilities as a player. My professions are Jewelcrafting and Inscription. Jewelcrafting is a given. It's amazing. I chose Inscription over Blacksmithing because not many of my guildies were Scribes and I felt as though I was benefiting the guild as a whole more as a Scribe than a Smither. It's probably a little bit too late into the expansion to worry about changing that now but I guess if you really wanted me to min/max it then I'd consider changing Inscription for Blacksmithing. I always come to raids prepared with flasks/pots/food etc. I use a usual setup of Flask of Endless Rage coupled with a Potion of Speed and for food I choose to eat Dragonfin Fillet for a nice boost in pure Strength. I use the Potion of Speed in conjunction with Bloodlust and my Gargoyle for a maximized outcome. I don't really have any recent logs of my damage so I can't show you exactly what I'm capable of but I feel right now my numbers are pretty solid. I'm pretty much exclusively a PVE player as I have never really been interested nor very good at PVP. Arena scares me and I'm not afraid to admit that I suck at it. Technical Details I don't want to bore you with jibber jabber so I'll keep this down to the essentials. I use a Quad Core Processor @ 2.33 GHz, 3 gigs of RAM and a GeForce 7100 Graphics Card. My setup isn't the best by any means but it is more than enough to keep WoW running at a decent frame rate in a raid environment. I use pretty much all the addons that you'd expect to see from a raider. I use DoTimers to keep track of my diseases and then I use stuff like Omen, CT Raid and DBM for raid stuff. My interface is nothing too flashy but it gets the job done for me just fine. Why You? First and foremost your raid times strike me as very appealing. I like the fact that you have such good progress on a limited time schedule and that suggests to me that you have some extremely skilled players to be able to pull that off. I also like that you're a guild that has been around for a long period of time and seem very stable. I'm looking to be part of a raid team that is going to progress together at a respectable pace while not having to be sat at my keyboard raiding 6-7 hours a night. Why Me? Honestly right now I'm at a cross-road in the expansion. Wrath of the Lich King is slowly winding down and right now I'm not in a situation where I'm going to be able to experience the demise of The Lich King. I'd like for that to change and I've looked at you guys and everything I've seen has impressed me. I want to be able to join now while my gear level isn't so far behind yours that it becomes an issue and I want to get back to what I find fun in the game - end-game raiding. I love the challenges that Blizzard presents us and I'm looking forward to being given the chance to experience the hard-mode content on both 25 and 10 player modes. I don't mind banging my head against the wall wiping hour after hour on progress nights, I actually enjoy learning fights and coming up with strategies on how to beat them. Nothing in the game beats the feeling you get when you've spent a ton of time learning and tuning your tactics to bring down a boss and then experiencing that epic nerd scream on vent. As I said before my main job in a raid is to bring the best possible DPS possible without getting myself killed stupidly. I will spec whichever spec is most suitable for the encounter and change it accordingly if it is deemed to be necessary. I don't want to blow my own trumpet too much but I believe that I know my class pretty damn well and I'm very efficient at playing it. Lastly I'd like to thank you for reading this application and taking it into consideration. I look forward to reading your responses and if there's anything else you need to ask then just fire away. Thanks again and hoping to hear from you soon. - Dean/Nekro |

Nah, Runestone is just kinda there cause I haven't had anything drop to replace it. I'm looking at either getting Whispering Fang from 10-man or DBW from 25 but that's probably reserved for hunters and rogues and stuffs. Gemming for ArP might become more viable for me as I gear up as the strength and armor penetration stat weights get closer and closer with better gear. We'll see.

No, those are reserved respectively by me and Aylia, and we'll kill anyone who tries to get 'em before us! Jokes aside, pretty good app, good luck with it! |

As I said in Jao's thread, the applications were great, however supporting another two classes for our raids would be very difficult at the moment. I wish you the best also.
